Celebrating Outdoor Living with Surface Matter at CDW 2016

Above: the Clerkenwell Design Week stage is set for Surface Matter's presentation of Loll Designs Lollygagger Collection, accentuated with Ella's special edition Sunlight through Leaves cushions. 

Below: Scott and Jane of Surface Matter - all smiles and dressed up for the occasion! We made stacks of cushions for people to pick from and use as they liked.Day 1 was quite chilly - Scott got lots of enquiries about his fabulous lollygagging poncho (made by Loll from recycled wool) ...... while the very charming Heather - of Loll - who came over all the way from the US, bravely held on to cups of hot tea as she experienced our British weather ...... and CDW visitors used our cushions to keep themselves warm. There were lots of nice conversations going on and connections made, as everyone enjoyed their lollygagging experience.What you cannot see in the picture below is the very funny situation accompanying this skillful attempt of the fastest assembly of a small lollygagger table for entry into the competition to win a set of lollygagger chairs and one of Ella's Sunlight through Leaves cushions: as the bystanders passionately discussed the best technique by way of reflecting on what they saw, someone astutely remarked that this was giving the next person an edge - everyone instantly went quiet!As it got warmer on the second and third day of CDW, visitors and locals mingled at lunch time and stayed on for quite a while ...Lastly, a sun-drenched close up of the Sunlight through Leaves cushions. We got lots of compliments for them and sold quite a few during CDW.
