For Clerkenwell Design Week (24th - 26th May), Ella has made a special edition 60x60cm Sunlight through Leaves cushion. The cushion is a contribution to Surface Matter's presentation 'Lollygagger Living' of Loll Designs' outdoor furniture in the garden of St James. 'Lollygagging' is the casual US equivalent to 'lounging', as Loll Designs are based in Minnesota, US. They use a material made from recycled milk and detergent packaging and Ella has matched their resourceful production strategy by using the off-cuts of fabric to make piping for the cushions. There is lots of interesting background, so do come and visit the installation at St James's Garden for a chat with Surface Matter and Ella about sustainable design and outdoor living.
There will also be competitions for three sets of chairs with one of Ella's Sunlight through Leaves cushions each - you can find out more here.
