A collaboration between designers Ella Doran and Kirsteen Stewart explores the landscapes of London and Orkney.

Designers Ella Doran and Kirsteen Stewart, specialists in print and textile design, are delighted to announce their first creative collaboration. The duo has created a capsule collection of womenswear and accessories for Spring / Summer 2018, using Kirsteen’s signature simple shapes, which act as a canvas for both designers’ striking and distinctive prints, highlighting their shared strong use of colour and bold, graphic sensibility. The collection features existing print designs from each designer’s own collections, used to create new compositions; exploring skyscapes in London and Orkney, where Kirsteen is based, as well as textures from their local rural and urban landscapes, such as ‘Peeling Paint’ in Hackney, where Ella has her studio.

Kirsteen Stewart commented, “I was thrilled to work with Ella. She’s one of my design heroes! It was so enjoyable working with another print designer; someone that speaks the same language and has the same enthusiasm for the medium.”

Ella Doran commented, “The minute I saw Kirsteen’s work, I loved it! Her refreshing, graphic and feminine designs are similar enough and different enough from my own for the collaboration to take off and create something really new in the process. It’s been very inspiring to see my designs adapted for the fashion market.”

The collection will be available to buy from Spring 2018 from both designers’ websites.
